While she was showing off her little dimple before the procedure, Isa was not too pleased to have to undergo a minor snip today on the inside of her top lip. Isa had “lip tie,” a situation in which the upper lip is tethered too tightly to the upper gum. 

It can affect the breastfeeding relationship because she can’t get as tight a seal for feeds and it is more painful for mom, so we got that fixed right away with a quick snip. No anesthesia required. Isa was just upset for a few minutes but once she returned to the boob she was fine.
