Isabel can sometimes be wary of unfamiliar experiences, preferring to observe a room or distract herself a bit before participating. Perhaps that’s what happened today when she covered her face (in this take, at least) for the family Christmas photo.

She’s also a goof, which is a more likely explanation.

Her poses improved throughout Christmas Day, when she received a fancy new Barbie unicorn, Polaroid camera and numerous plush toys, among many gifts.
